Protect Chino Endorses Chris Flores
Protect Chino and it's Board of Directors are proud to announce that Chris Flores was endorsed for Chino City Council Member for District 1.
Flores introducing himself. It was quite the experience for him. He looks to keep learning, growing, and staying involved.
Protect Chino’s mission is to have Developers follow Chino's General Plan when it comes to housing developments. Too many times Builders were allowed to purchase land zoned for 1 or 2 houses to an acre and let the Builders increase the zoning to 4, 7 12, up to 40 condos to an acre.
Protect Chino has defeated a few housing development projects since organizing as a group. The D R Horton project on Benson and Philadelphia was zoned 1 house to an acre (all the surrounding homes were 1 to an acre). The builder wanted up to 18 to an acre. The 2 most current housing developments stopped were Chino Francis Estates and Chino Francis Crossing. Both were zone 1 and 2 homes to an acre. That builder wanted 8 to an acre. Again all the surrounding homes were built to Chino's 1 to 2 to an acre.
Protect Chino does not want to stop any housing projects that conforms to Chino's General Plan - just the ones that don't. One recent project Protect Chino did not get involved in was passed by the San Bernardino County Supervisors on Chino Ave and the 71 Freeway. It is on 1 house to an acre, surrounded by the same. The Supervisors allowed 40 to an acre.
